Our reactions?

Hilary “The CEO”:

Filming Glasslandia was quite the experience! At first I liked the idea of a Google Glass reality show. I know reality TV is very popular. It’s actually something I find interesting and entertaining to watch so I thought our own reality show could be fun too. I was nervous about how I would come across, but once the decision was made and the filming began, I adjusted rather quickly. I got so used to the camera being there, I didn’t even really care after a while that it was. So viewers of Glasslandia are actually getting to see what I’m really like, no pomp or circumstance, just the real deal. I hope you like what you see!

Kristie “The Skeptic”:

I was actually the one who suggested doing a reality show. I just thought video was the best medium to showcase what we could do. I’ve always told Hilary that her life should be a reality show and guess what, now it is. My biggest concern was deciding if I should eat on camera. I spoke with the producer and he was like, just do what you normally do – it is reality afterall. And so I ate my cheese omelet and I totally embarrassed myself. That darn cheese, what the episode is actually named after, will haunt me forever. I’m never eating a cheese omelet again! But even with that awkward moment, I’m happy we went through with it. It was a lot of fun and gave us another creative outlet to showcase our passion. And hey, if the Kardashians need a guest ‘star’ next season, I’m 100% in!

Elizabeth “The Diplomat”:

When the idea of a Google Glass reality show was originally suggested, I immediately thought of The Real Housewives of New York and got a little nervous. Did we really want to put ourselves out there that much? Nicknamed The Diplomat, for having a very politically correct personality, after seeing the first episode, I was happy with the way it turned out and how I was portrayed. It was weird at first having people follow you around with a camera. Even weirder was watching yourself on the big screen and thinking, why did I do/say that?! Every movement and facial expression is captured on film forever, but with that being said, I really love that my promotion was caught on tape. I get to watch that proud moment over and over and share it with my family and friends.

Mary “The New Girl”:

I really was the new girl! I joined HJMT about a week before shooting began. At first when I heard about the reality show, I was pretty against it. I personally think reality TV is so fake and very forced. I didn’t want to have to do that, but Glasslandia isn’t fake at all! After this experience, I really think reality TV stars do forget the camera is there because I certainly did! I hated watching myself on camera, but it’s pretty entertaining too.

Lisa “The Rock”:

I thought a HJMT PR reality show would be hilarious and I’m happy to be a part of it. Some of it might have only been funny to those people that know all the players, but it was pretty neat seeing our daily lives play out on camera. I can say I was part of the first ever Google Glass reality show – not many people can say that! This first episode you really only hear my voice, but I think I might be in it more down the line. I guess you’ll just have to wait and see!
