Glasslandia Thoughts on Mixed Doubles

Episode 3, “Mixed Doubles” of Glasslandia, the first ever Google Glass reality show, aired this week. What did you think? Incase you didn’t watch it yet, go ahead – take a look now!

In this week’s episode we see Hilary and Kristie head into Manhattan to film Google Glass footage of the customer experience at two East Midtown Parternship locales. The end of this episode only leaves you wanting more!

Here’s the scoop on “Mixed Doubles.”

Kristie “The Skeptic”:

What did you think of this episode?
I like this episode, I think you see a much more fun, lighter side of Hilary and me.

Any “Kristie moments”?
When isn’t there a Kristie moment? (Ha). My favorite Kristie moment of this episode has to be the scene with the white rice. It sounded really funny when I said it, but it really was tasty white rice.

Hilary and you have a close relationship – is it really like that every day?
What you see is exactly the relationship that Hilary and I have. We may not always agree on things, and at times we have different opinions on directions we should take, but when it comes down to it, we both want to do great things for our clients. Hilary is one of the most passionate people I have ever met and I love to work with passionate people. And after working together for 13 years, we are obviously really comfortable with each other. She has become more than just a boss and a partner. She has become a really close friend.

How often do you go into the city?
I am usually in the city meeting with clients about once a week. It’s perfect. Being a mom, with two small kids I like sticking on Long Island most of the time, but I also love breaking it up and getting into the city a couple of times a month. I find it to be the perfect balance.

At the end you got a call from Elizabeth – what happened?
You have to ask Reality Steve. Just kidding. He’s busy covering The Bachelor and The Real Housewives. You’ll just have to tune in next week to get the full details, but as you can see from next week’s preview, there is a bit of drama about to happen.

Hilary “The CEO and Google Glass Explorer”:

What did you think of this episode?
I was a little embarrassed.  Did I really say that in the car??? Oh boy!

Do you usually blog at night?
I always blog at night and on the weekends.  Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and blog.  I get an idea in my head and have to write it down immediately.

Are you a good driver? Do you love your car?
Well, it did take four times to pass my road test and some would say it’s a little scary in the car with me. But, I consider myself a good driver. I’m in the car 80% of my day. I’ve already put nearly 20,000 miles on my car in a year.

What was the US Open like through Glass?
Besides strange looks from the other observers, I loved using Google Glass during the US. Open.  It was cool to watch the footage after as well.

Was East Midtown Partnership/Allure Day Spa/Glaze Teriyaki Grill excited to have you there to film?
Oh yes, they were thrilled.  I got VIP treatment, but I don’t think I got any better treatment than anyone else.  I think they treat everyone like a VIP.

Any sneak peeks at next week’s episode?
Wait until you see next week.  A series of interesting events take place.  But I don’t want to spoil it because than you won’t watch!
